Spring is the perfect season for a road trip. The weather is warming up, flowers are blooming, and scenic drives across the United States become magical.

The Smoky Mountains are one of my favorite places for spring wildflowers! The park is so vast there are different wildflowers at different elevations. Plus, there is a wildflower pilgrimage that is jam-packed with activities and events!

Whether you're a seasoned road warrior or just looking for a weekend getaway, the US has some of the most stunning spring road trip destinations. Here's a list of the 15 best spring road trips in the USA to inspire your next adventure.

Start your journey in Shenandoah National Park, where Skyline Drive transitions into the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Along the way, stop at Humpback Rocks (Milepost 5.8), an outdoor museum offering insight into Appalachian culture, or hike the nearby trail for sweeping views of the valley.

As you head south, there are plenty of scenic overlooks, perfect for stretching your legs and capturing the beauty of the mountains.

Further along, you'll pass through Blowing Rock, a charming mountain town ideal for a leisurely lunch or a quick stop to browse local shops.

Once you reach Ashville, head west to the Great Smoky Mountains, where you can explore scenic routes, misty peaks, and vibrant wildflowers.

2. Pacific Coast Highway: California

The Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) is a legendary route along California's coastline, offering dramatic ocean views, charming seaside towns, and iconic landmarks.

Spring brings vibrant green hills and colorful wildflowers to this already stunning drive.

Start in Los Angeles or San Diego, going north along US-1. Malibu is one of the first must-see stops, known for its pristine beaches and luxurious atmosphere.
